Hypnosis for Weight
Management
My approach with
hypnosis for weight management has evolved
tremendously this last year and is continuing to evolve.
This evolution has taken place when looking at the specific barriers
that each individual is facing in their quest to eat properly and to
exercise more and as one barrier is broken down looking at the next one.
I will explain each menu item (similar to my Health Maintenance Menu)
as it evolved. These are meant as a guideline but I mostly
individualize it for your needs.
-
“The Original Wt Loss Hypnosis”-
This has been the main staple item I have used now since probably
around 1986. When I had checked
and tracked success rate with this it was approximately 80%.
It involves forming an image of how you want to look and feel
fit, and that image or that feeling will come up each time to encourage
you to eat properly and to exercise.
It can come up at the same time each day to encourage you to
exercise daily. Then using
positive reinforcement, when you eat healthy food it will taste great
and be much more satisfying than that other food.
It will peak in flavor when you eat the proper amount of food and
the taste will drop back to normal if you eat beyond that.
Then when you exercise the endorphins (your body’s own narcotic
that gets elevated in extreme exercise such as marathons) will get
amplified 100 times and just feel great when you exercise.
-
“The Most Filling Hypnosis” -
This beauty I developed after I had surgery and found for the
first couple days I felt very full despite eating very little and I
didn’t want any more food. So
for this one I have you first remember a time you were very full – such
as thanksgiving- and recreate that feeling.
Then have that feeling come up in the middle of your meal or in
the middle of snacking and you will stop eating.
This one has had great reviews !!
I first did this on myself and lost 20lb between October and
December 2005. I presented this
as a sneak preview at the office in a free group hypnosis and despite
the one man who was snoring (went to his comfortable place which was
sleeping in his lazy boy chair), others in the group did very well.
One man who did not think he was hypnotized lost so much weight
that his family was concerned that there was something wrong with him
and had me look for cancer, etc.

“The Exercise Enhancement” or the
“Natural Performance Enhancer”-
This is one I am most excited about lately.
I have to thank my medical student that rotated with me who is
also a Personal Trainer. He
wanted to see what it was like to do hypnosis so I did this one with him
to enhance his workout. I had
him use more muscle fibers, have more strength, increase the energy to
his muscles, increase blood flow and delivery of oxygen to his muscles.
Then added that in between it will stretch appropriately and heal
and build more muscle fiber and develop appropriately.
He told me that before we did the hypnosis he would be impressed
if he could lift the same weight once since he already max’ed out his
workout. This was his comment-
“It definitely worked! too well, in fact. i warmed up with 90#
dumbells on flat bench (i ended with 95's this morning only doing 1
rep). I then jumped up to 100's (5# more on each arm than i was able to
do this morning), and I was able to get them TWICE!”
This will be evolving to make certain that nobody gets hurt.
I had done this myself and increased most of my weights by 40lb,,
I kept myself in a light state of hypnosis while I was working out,,,
and by accident I put the biceps up by 100lbs instead of 40 ,,, I was
able to lift it for the 3 sets of 10 but my arm was sore afterward for
part of the day. I use a
crossbow machine for this. I
also found that when I did the Nordic trak instead of a moderate pace, I
went a racing pace and felt great and could go another 20min easy,, and
increased the stepper from intermediate level 2, to expert level 3.
I am so impressed with it !!

“The Anti-Sabotage”
This one I recently did in two versions.
One for people that sabotage me (sales people who bring me food,
my family who want to eat), and the other was specifically when I leave
the office before I get home to want to exercise instead of raiding the
pantry. Each time I reject food
I will get a surge of uplifting energy that feels great and it makes me
smile and stronger so its easier to reject food.
