Stress Management

I do not see too many adult patients who are not stressed, particularly here in the Detroit area.   Although there is not much you can do about many of the things that cause you stress,  we can do something about how we let the stress effect us.

Exercise-  very good for stress management.  Particularly if your hitting a ball, or kicking a bag or the like.  Exercise of course has many benefits like on your heart, on your weight.  But also it does wonders for your stress.  It’s a great place to think about the problems and either solve them or resolve them by realizing there is nothing you can do and let it go.

Deep relaxation techniques-  easy to do and just takes about 10-15min to help shake off the day.  Click

Massage therapy-  can be both therapeutic for aching joints as well as a great stress management tool.  I have found Kelly to be one of the best and she can do this out of our office as well.

Acupuncture-  I found this to be surprisingly very relaxing.  I almost fell asleep with the needles attached.  There is a ton of things that acupuncture helps with, but I am no expert.  Luckily Susan is an expert, has the most experience in acupuncture than anyone I know.  I find anything that has been around for centuries must be very good.

Hypnosis-  again another modality that has been around for centuries.  There is pretty much nothing more relaxing than hypnosis, especially if you do it along with massage.
